Millennia Stratigraphic Consultants have fully equipped laboratory facilities in Lechlade and Aylesbury to undertake sample preparation for micropalaeontology to the highest standards.
The fundamental building block of our services is the preparation of sample material. There is great variability in sample quality, drilling muds, mud additives and lost circulation materials, which means that our approach to processing and obtaining a clean sample residue or slide for analysis must be flexible. Our technicians are highly experienced in undertaking sample processing procedures whether in-house or at well-site. We promote good communications between our in-house labs and associate processing facilities in order to maintain the high standards which our industry demand.
In addition, we are also able to offer thin-section preparation via our associates at StoreCore Ltd. in Surrey. Palynological preparations are outsourced and undertaken by our associates at Palynological Laboratory Services, Palyno Services Ltd. and MB Stratigraphy. These are specialist operations dedicated to the provision of high quality palynological slides for both routine and kerogen analysis. Nannofossil preparations are provided by Varol Research Ltd. All laboratory practices have been fully evaluated to meet the requirements of COSHH.
