Wellsite Services (biostratigraphy) enables accurate stratigraphic interpretation of drill-bit position whilst drilling. This service, bio steering, is essential in the drilling of wild-cat exploration wells and deep-water exploration wells in unproven areas where drilling costs are high and the geological uncertainty is greatest.

Wellsite Services

All of our biostratigraphers and associates have considerable expertise in providing wellsite biostratigraphic services. With this level of international expertise we have been able to assist in the drilling of a number of wild-cat and deep-water exploration wells in a variety of locations worldwide, which include Cuba, Rockall, Italy, Angola, Oman, Yemen and Pakistan and the Norwegian, UK and Irish offshore sectors.

Bio Steering

Our biostratigraphers and associates have also participated in the bio steering of a number of development wells where it is vitally important to communicate the stratigraphic position of the drill-bit within the reservoir to the directional drillers and geologists to facilitate accurate decisions to be made.
